Cynthia Anne Stanley is a New York based director and choreographer. Trained at Stapleton School of Performing Arts and San Francisco Ballet, she received her BFA in Dance Performance at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, earning the "Dancer of Excellence" award. Cynthia mainly creates independent pieces for live performance and film but has also choreographed for the Martha Graham School & Ensemble, Dallas Contemporary Ballet, Bardos Ballet Theater, Stapleton Youth Company, and other performing art schools, as well as collaborating on and performing in music videos and short films. She was the director of the collaborative dance theatre group “Bardos Ballet Theatre” and acted as Senior associate of Education for the Martha Graham school.
Most recently Cynthia along with her husband, Theo Stanley created a virtual reality dance film in collaboration with The Martha Graham Company and Barney’s New York.
